Independent Project Press is dedicated to bringing a compelling, artistic presence to all of the work that we produce. IPP specializes in creating distinctive and unique printed objects which serve to transform “Product” into “Art.”  Throughout our over three decades of letterpress printing experience we have continued to evolve our signature aesthetic.

 

IPP offers a variety of specialty packaging concepts for the music industry, from unique letterpress-printed vinyl record jackets to our own Discfolio all-cardboard CD & media packaging. 

 

We produce all of our in-house print projects by hand-fed letterpress, on either of our two Chandler & Price platen presses or our Vandercook 219 Power proofing press.  Our letterpress studio is equipped with a vintage Rosback pinhole perforator and a fine selection of antique handset type and ornaments.

 

In addition to all of our analog equipment, we also produce many projects from your digital files, which we have processed into magnesium, copper, or photo-polymer plates for printing on our presses.  To enhance your project we offer an abundance of interesting and unusual paper stocks, creative hand set type and ormamentation. We relish in layering thick slabs of ink on crusty paper to see what happens!  Our hand-fed letterpresses can print on virtually any type of paper, from thin, translucent glassine to thick cardboard stocks. 

 

Our specialty since day one has been feeding piles of chipboard into the press and having them magically transform into sumptuous objects of art.  Our clients can trust that we will give our scrupulous attention to every detail of their project.
